Thank you to all who voted today in HF-L! "I remain so grateful to the entire community for supporting every student, every day," said Superintendent Gene Mancuso. For proposition one, for the 2023-24 school budget, the vote was 593 for, and 206 against. For proposition two, the purchase of school buses, the vote was 584 for, and 217 against.
Congratulations to the three community residents who were elected to the school board. The vote totals for school board elections were: Susan Thering with 590 votes, Lynley Guckian with 626 votes, and Caralyn Ross with 629 votes. Each newly elected school board member will be sworn into office at the school board re-organizational meeting.
PROPOSITION #1 – 2023-24 BUDGET
Shall the proposed budget of $59,930,750 be approved, including funding to enter into multi-year installment purchase contracts in accordance with the General Municipal Law for the acquisition of office and grounds equipment and motor vehicles and all other necessary costs incidental thereto?

PROPOSITION #2 – SCHOOL BUS PURCHASE
Shall the Board of Education be authorized to purchase up to six (6)-vehicles for student transportation including necessary furnishings, fixtures, equipment and all other necessary costs incidental thereto, and expend a sum not to exceed $900,777 which is the cost estimated to be the total maximum cost thereof, to be raised by tax on the taxable property of the District which shall be levied and collected in annual installments in such years and in such amounts as may be determined by the Board of Education, and to finance all or part of the cost thereof by bonds or notes issued in accordance with the Education Law and the Local Finance Law or by installment purchase contracts in accordance with the General Municipal Law and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said obligations when due?
