The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District is pleased to announce that the HF-L Athletic Program, specifically our athletic training services and trainers, Jim Porcella and Renee Davis has been chosen as the recipients of the 2023 Joseph Abraham Award.
The Joseph Abraham Award is given annually by the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association to the high school that has provided outstanding athletic injury care to the student – athletes of their school. Programs are evaluated based on athletic trainer experience, amount of student coverage, athletic training facilities, and district support.
“Your dedication, diligence, and professionalism in the outstanding athletic care to HF-L student athletes has been well documented by local athletes, parents, and coaches for many years. This award exemplifies the work and care we see each day and we are thrilled that you have been identified by the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association with this award. It is an amazing accolade for a relatively small high school program in Section V,” said Gene Mancuso, HF-L Superintendent.
HF-L becomes only the 2nd Section V School, since 1986, to receive this statewide honor. Please join the District in congratulating Davis and Porcella for their outstanding work as HF-L athletic trainers and for earning this recognition. The award will be presented at the 2023 Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association (EATA) conference to be held in January 2023.
Once again, congratulations on this award and thank you for the work you do each day on behalf of the student-athletes of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District.
